Best-dressed celebrity couples
As Glamour magazine names Twilight stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart their best-dressed couple of 2013, it seems like the perfect time to give an honourable mention to some of our favourite well-groomed celebrity pairings. They may well have an army of stylists to help them shop for evening dresses and cufflinks, but these gorgeous duos all exude a natural sense of stylishness. They’re attractive on their own, but unbeatable as a pair, all whilst maintaining a long-lasting relationship under the spotlight.
Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones
A couple who just ooze old school Hollywood glamour, Michael and Catherine’s on-duty styles complement each other perfectly. Catherine’s preference towards floor-length gowns, beautifully coiffed hair and just the right amount of sparkle lend all of her red carpet looks a real sense of timeless beauty, whilst Michael always impresses in classic tuxedos, though often in a subtly unusual navy or dark green.
Helen Mirren and Taylor Hackford
Though they have a whole mantelpiece of major awards between them, this Hollywood power couple haven’t lost their sense of mischief. On the red carpet, Taylor – best known for directing An Officer and a Gentleman – sticks to dapper suits accessorised with silk ties and an elegant tie pin, and never shies away from a cheeky pose. Adventurous Helen knows how to work her assets in flattering frocks, and isn’t afraid of making bold fashion statements like the sassy pink bob she debuted at this year’s BAFTAs.
Paul Hollywood and Mary Berry
Paul and Mary may not be romantically involved, but they’re certainly one of our favourite TV couples, and complement each other like scones and jam. Paul generally goes for a smart-casual look – pastel shirts, well-cut jackets, even the occasional slim fit jumper – all the better for rolling up his sleeves and getting stuck in with some kneading. Racing ahead in the style stakes, Mary manages to wear outfits that are both on-trend and age-appropriate, usually thanks to the inclusion of a few key fashion pieces – a silk scarf, print blazer or the famous floral bomber jacket that sold out within days of her wearing it on the Bake Off.
