High 60’s in December ? Yes Please!
today was exactly what I needed 💖💜💗 .
It’s been the craziest December and getting away from everything was exactly what we our family needed to do .
We got into st George at 3am and it’s just been one of those go with the flo kinda days
We started off by dropping Dallin off at Zion’s
the kids and I tried finding waffles but ended up getting grinch pancakes at IHOP (kids saw it on a commercial) .
bought the only pool toy we could find (it’s really a snow tube) .
walked to club house (well technically we got lost & hitchhiked👍🏻) you guys it was literally right by our House 🙆🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️
Long story short, having ZERO agenda after rushing around the last 20 days with a mile long list of “to-dos” has been PERFECT in EVERY WAY ☀️
After the busiest day of the year, school choir performances, class parties, polar express, driving to St. George all we wanted to do was lay in our hotel room at the Entrada and eat waffles. Dallin wanted to hike Zions so we dropped him off while the kiddos and I went to IHOP. The kids had seen that IHOP serves green pancakes, grinch toast and green hot cocoa and it was yummy!
on a serious 📝 : would you rather
c) McDonalds .
d) other .
e) none of the above ☝🏻 .
Today we had the opportunity to give a family Christmas who may not have had one otherwise. Today I had list a mile long I needed to do for my own families Christmas and to start packing, and get my room mothering material all together for Wednesday etc I had a million excuses why it might not work out and then it hit me. These are people, children that need me. We got their clothes at TJ Maxx and their toys at Walmart and we were able to do all their shopping and delivered their presents in one day.
We had the opportunity to meet the family, some years we get to some years just the parent(s). Three of the children were still awake when we showed up and their mother and them had made us a Christmas card. It was so tender and so sweet.
I know my children and I will always remember this. They are the ones that brought all the presents in to them and did all the shopping with us. It was such a sweet night/day to go into a store(s) and have them think of others and not a single one of them asked for anything, and thats never happened.
The spirit of Christmas was STRONG! I never want this feeling to go away.
green velvet bomber jacket (shein, comes in black too, you’ll love it!)
Briton & Brooklyn’s nursery teachers made the kids dinner & VOLUNTEERED! to babysit tonight while we snuck out for a mid week date 🍣! Shout out to our awesome neighbors & good people everywhere 💖❤️💗💜
You guys I need your help!
Today I’m heading into Hudsons class and talking Christmas traditions for 30-60mins. Sounds easy, sounds fun, except for the fact that I am the very last mother to do it and everything I had planned Hudson said so and so’s mom did that and then proceeded to tell me how good theirs was. Dang I cant outdo that I think.
So last night before we went on our date Hudson came up to me and told me to just not even show up tomorrow and his teacher will figure something out.
So after dinner we went to Trader Joes I bought a real little tree and well have the students decorate it and then give to the teacher. (hudson told me this morning so and so did this but she brought in a 4 foot tree and the class decorated it, rats!!!!
I also bought a bunch of JoJoes and will talk how we do neighbor gifts? But I dont know how im going to make that stretch for 30 mins or so.
I also got a box of 60 gingerbread boys, maybe we can do something with that? If you have any ideas help a room mother out!
