This past weekend I celebrated my unofficial-official “Shannon Holiday” where I got to choose whatever I wanted to do, as my husband took three of our four children camping.
Brooklyn & I spent the evening at the salon. He slept in his carseat the entire time & I got my blonde toned. Leaving my natural ombre and just taking out the warm tones.
Afterwards we decided to hit up the movie theater. There was nothing of interest there, so we decided to take a small popcorn home, rent La La Land, and watch in our pj’s.
We ended our night by taking our first bathtub together. Now that Brooklyn’s umbilical chord has fallen out, I decided to have him join me in the tub. It was so cute as I held him on his back and swished him from side to side. He appeared to be right at home. I could tell by the way he would doze off that he loved it!!!!! I kept thinking it was only two weeks ago since he was floating/swimming in my tummy.
Needless to say, I loved my holiday! And would recommend everyone to declare their own day. It was so relaxing, almost too relaxing, my heart pitter pattered when I woke up to little feet running in my bedroom, and getting the biggest campfire kisses and hugs from my toddlers. It was exactly what I needed.
*let me know when it’s over* JK
We are now into our second day of Spring Break. My joke is always “where’s the ‘Break’ in Spring Break?”
On Sunday we made a master list of all the activities the toddlers wanted to do over their break. Also all the things they wanted to do with me before I have the baby.
We took the list and cut it up into strips, folded all the papers, placed inside Hudson’s fisherman hat. And every night before we go to sleep we pick out an activity or two.
Monday- We went to the roller rink all day. After, the kids got to choose a Spring Break book at Barnes & Noble.
Tuesday – The kids have gymnastics and soccer, Briton chose to go to a pet store and look at puppies, and then off to Boss Baby, that is if it’s not sold out. Tuesdays are always a zoo at the theaters because all the movies are $5.
Speaking of the zoo. One of the activities is going to the zoo… I’m secretly hoping that one gets picked over the weekend when my husband can come too lol
Keeping it chill this Spring Break, but also loving my extra time with my kids. I almost forgot how life was when they were with me all day everyday, just the four of us.
We may have to change the timing of when we pick out our activities, maybe move it to the morning vs right before bedtime. My husband brought this to my attention when he payed me the biggest compliment aka called me out.
He was reading the kids their new books, I come in with the fisherman hat and the kids went nuts. He said do you realize our kids view you like a toy?
He then explained that the reason he does the putting to bed process and why I stay far away from it is because I wind them up and get them too excited for the morning.
So this Spring Break I am working on learning how to whisper and to put my kids to bed. It sounds silly, but I am not good at the bedtime scene. Dallin is amazing at it and has good bedside manors. I get hyper in these scenarios.
Super random, but this is our current dilemma. I am also writing it because I thought it was so funny and unfortunately accurate.
I also want to start out today’s post with an apology. I meant to say this two weeks ago when I posted a picture on instagram of me in a one piece that I had clearly outgrown and was stretching to the limits. I was so excited to post a picture of my little sister and I on the beach, I didn’t look past my navel and see that there was slim to non coverage going on below it. Obviously that picture is nowhere to be found thank heavens and for those of you who did point this out, and for those who did happen to see it my biggest apologies.
This was only one of the two big maternity bathing suit bloopers that took place.
Another suit I tried wearing, got so stretched it went see-through. It looked fine when I left my hotel room, but when I got out of the lazy river my husband just bust out laughing. Keep in mind that I had been walking around a lot before I had seen him. He was like hey I’ll go get you a towel, and in the mean time I’ll walk behind you. I was mortified. Imagine pale blue looking skin and EVERYTHING exposed.
I have loved being pregnant through the winter, being able to cover up with coats, and clothes. I have 3 summer babies so it’s been so nice this pregnancy not having to wear a swimsuit on the daily lol:)
**For those of you who will be pregnant in the summer and are looking for great swimsuits I have a bunch I purchased before I left and that still have tags on them. Email me and I can show you if you’re interested. They are all cute patterned, thickly lined, and not french cut whatsoever 🙂

Taking full advantage of the first day of spring! The calendar said first day of spring, the forecast said rain, all I know is rain or shine spring you are fully welcome here at the Bird house.
We had fun puddle jumping & playing at the park today as it was stop & start rain this afternoon 🙂
Sundays are the best for so many reasons. It’s the one day a week I try to get really ready, shaving legs included, which you would have no idea how hard that is getting. The one day a week I wear high heels, even if it is just for 3 hrs. pretty sure if there wasn’t a Sunday I would have a very dusty heel collection. The one day a week I get to take as long as a nap as I need, husbands orders. And the day of the week my baby changes into a different sized fruit as told by my app. This week baby is the size of a pineapple, but I swear it feels more like a watermelon 🙂
