I love a good action shot 🙂 “swing me mom” #aco-taco
Yesterday we trekked down to St. George to honor a life well lived, Dallin’s Grandpa. It was the kind of ending I would design myself. He lived to the age of 97, died on the first day of spring, and his funeral was in 70 degree weather. He didn’t leave behind a loved one, instead he was going to heaven to meet her. Although losing a loved one is never easy, and I wouldn’t mind if I didn’t get invited to another funeral in a long time, I was really happy for our Grandpa.
The very first time I met him was when Dallin and I were dating. He said he was glad he got to meet me because this would be his last time seeing him because he was dying. Then when we left he said a prayer that he would die because he just wanted to be with his wife…That was 8 years ago!! The perfect love story. I am so glad Grandpa got what he longed to have, his wife back.
My favorite part of the funeral was learning that Grandpa always had an active temple recommend and that his expired 10 days after he passed away. It really was a perfect ending.
On a fun note….Briton loves to “walk” while holding our hands. It was a bit of a challenge for Holland and I, I was in high heels and Holland kept wanting to be swung in the middle herself. She started out liking the idea of helping Briton walk, but started to notice she was again getting kicked out of her spot and wanted to be the baby again. My kids, Hudson included, still call themselves my babies. Hudson calls himself Baby no. 1 bc he was the first 🙂 Holland is Baby Holland and Briton is Baby Britsy. Gosh I love this stage of my kids life, sometimes 🙂
