Hi guys we’re back! It’s been a wild week to say the least from having to stay at the hospital to celebrating my birthday. We’ve been laying low and have gained a greater appreciation for one another.
After we got home from the hospital I felt like I was having an out of body experience, like a “It’s a Wonderful Life” experience. Where I looked at my life and instead of wanting to change carpet, backsplash, I actually got a lump in my throat and choked up over the simple things, and felt lucky I was getting to take my kids to their activities.
A quick recap of why Briton got hospitalized. I took Briton into his pediatrician and they diagnosed him as having the paraflu. I took him in the next day because he was like a sack of potatos and had no muscle strength he couldn’t even sit up he was so sick. In the time between visits he lost 3 lbs and the whole time during the visit he was losing more fluids out both ends. They walked us to the hospital and diagnosed him as having a respiratory infection and gastronitist.
We finally got to go home 2 days later, just in time to see Holland at her first day of dance. The following day was my birthday. I told my husband what I wanted was for my ribs to heal and for him to take the kids so I could clean the house.
I got a birthday miracle. The day of my birthday I felt pretty crummy and after gymnastics I told the kids we were having down time so I could take it easy. After we watched a movie I started feeling better. Went to my minivan and tested out my rib strength. I could now grip my steering wheel. Something so small, made me so happy. My husband got a sitter and we went to dinner. After dinner we went and visited my mom who has been suffering from kidney stones and in and out of the hospital herself.
It has seriously been a crazy week. I wanted to see her more than anything during this whole process and to thank her for giving me a birthday. We don’t usually have a lot of medical problems but it all just seemed to hit us all the same week. We are recovered and are grateful to be feeling better at this time.
Thank you everyone for your kind words, thoughts and prayers they were gratefully appreciated and felt and helped us get on our feet quicker. Let’s all have a great week!
