Ski Utah

Not going to lie, skiing with a handful of kids is a lot of work. You may not get a lot of runs in, but it is great exercise.  One day we are going to easily all go down the slopes, but until then, we’ll be making the fondest of memories and laughing all the way.

*sometimes I wonder what my children are going to think of us as parents when they look back on these pictures? My parents were nuts? Or if they’ll follow in our footsteps?

Our family values our time skiing together, and love introducing our kids early, so they too will grow up loving it. Skiing is a lifelong sport.

You don’t have to take my word for it, there’s the perfect ski vacation waiting for you! We want you and your families to enjoy skiing and we believe that Utah is the best place to ski. If you get the chance to visit the 801, you have to visit one of Ski Utah’s 15 resorts it represents across Utah.

The Ski Utah Passport Program is your ticket to winter fun for your 5th and 6th graders!

Ski Utah’s 5th and 6th Grade Passport Program is completely digital. Children go up to the resort window, give their name and birthdate, the resort employee looks them up and they are ready to go! Quick and easy. 5th graders get 3 days (45 days total) and 6th graders get 1 day (15 days totally) at all 15 Utah resorts for a one-time fee of $45. The program is available to any 5th and 6th graders in the world! The Passport also provides hundreds of dollars in discounts on lessons, rentals, off hill activities and even accompanying adult lift tickets, a huge savings for families.

Flying in? There are 10! resorts within an hour of the airport, so it’s easy to try different mountains with the Passport program.

If you have any questions at all, do not hesitate to reach out and ask. Here’s also a direct link (HERE) to their website. If you come to Utah you have to let me know, who knows maybe I’ll see you on the slopes!

 red moon boot ( amazon ) / k2 skis ( amazon ) / black coat ( rossignol) / zebra ski outfit ( rossignol JCC line, univailable )

I’ve never gotten so many compliments when walking through a mall as I did wearing these red moon boots. It took me forever to decide what color I was going to get, but so glad I went with red.

So grateful I went to the mall last night and not today because this afternoon at Fashion Place Mall there was a shooting. Looks like I am officially an online shopper.

My 2019 Diet/Lifestyle

January 4, 2019 By Birdalamode 11 Comments

For the last year now I have been maintaining and strengthening by using my treadmill, 2 pound weights and my yoga mat.

About 3 to 4 times a week I have dedicated 40-60 mins a day to working out with the intent to maintain my weight, strengthen my muscles, build endurance, and to get more flexible.

A day in the life:

(Im choosing to write it this way so that I can easily explain both diet and exercise)

Wake up: get kids off to school , grab my 44 oz diet dr pepper soda, eat a piece of candy (usually a mini reesse’s peaunut butter cup or a york patty) and either exercise at my house or twice a week I do mommy and me gymnastics for an hr with my baby boys.

*for healthier option substitute candy with piece of fruit. This is what wakes me up and what I enjoy eating. I am not saying its healthy its just my cup of tea.

I then hop on the treadmill. Some days I walk at a speed 5 at a very high incline for 40 mins and zone out to tv. And on other days I run sprints at incline 0. Alternating my speed from speed 4 to 7 (4 mins at speed 4 : 3 mins speed 7)

I will incorporate 2 lb weights when walking on my treadmill and also when I am stretching after my run.

I always cool down by stretching. I believe this is a great way to keep your muscles long, lean and your body limber.

**I am trying to get back my flexibility. My husband and I are currently in a “split off” on who can get their splits back fastest. The whole family is getting competitive and involved on this.

After I work out, I drink a glass of water and protein drink. My fridge always has light muscle milks in them. I pour the pre-made drink on to a cup of ice and enjoy.

If I have time I will eat a sandwich around 1 and a normal sized dinner around 6-7.

This is a very brief summary of my lifestyle/diet, so If you have any questions at all feel free to ask either on my comments on instagram (I see those way before I get to my DM’s) or feel free to ask on here via comments.

Have a great weekend!

Best

Blades of Glory

November 29, 2018 By Birdalamode Leave a Comment

white teddy coat (kohls) / leg warmers (walmart) / leotard (5 brand, similar) / ice skates (the ones I’m asking Santa to get me for christmas) / headband (asos) / gold skirt (carters, girls size 14, it was pretty big so runs LARGE!)

Lately we have been stuck in the movie and sushi date night routine, so on Tuesday we decided to switch it up. It started with a couple funny giphys going back and forth with the mr. Then it went full blown Blades Of Glory, costume, spandex and all. Dallin backed out of the costume portion this go around. We had no idea the rink would be disco night, which just added to the flare!

You should have seen the looks on the kids faces when we came home and showed them our moves. They are begging for us to take them soon. This is a date night that well ALWAYS remember!
