I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas, and you are all enjoying the break. I have been loving & experiencing all sorts of feelings as we just celebrated another beautiful Christmas. I feel like I’ve been on pause the last couple of days. I started cleaning up Christmas, undecorated the tree, felt sick to my stomach about it and redecorated it. What’s wrong with me? I’ve never had post Christmas blues, but this year I’m feeling it.
Lots of inward feelings this time of year as we just celebrated Brooklyn’s first Christmas and finalizing my theme for 2018.
to be continued…
We did it. Brooklyn and I, for the first time ever, spent longer than 3 hrs away from each other this weekend when papa Bird decided to purposely take me somewhere where babies weren’t allowed. This being the first time Brooklyn was going to miss a feeding from me and use formula, I was very selective on what formula I was going to give him.
I have fed Brooklyn from my body since the day I conceived the little cutie. For 6 months we’ve been attached either by the umbilical chord or through nursing. About two months ago I introduced Brooklyn to the spoon and have since incorporated some baby foods, oatmeals and yogurts into his diet along with nursing 6 or more times around the clock.
As his first non breast milk formula experience I went with Comforts™ Infant Formula because it is the closest formula to breastmilk and believe me I researched. I felt comforted (no pun intended) my pediatrician recommended using Comforts™ infant formula as a great addition to breastmilk for times when you aren’t able to be with you baby.
What sold me on Comforts™ is there formula is NON-GMO, ingredients have not been genetically engineered. They are designed with all the vitamins & minerals your baby needs for a healthy first year & beyond.
I am so excited for this new milestone and that we have found Comforts™ formula. Brooklyn was sound asleep when we got home from our date. The sitter reported that he took to it great and fell asleep right away. He woke up at 3 am like he usually does, I nursed him and it was like we didn’t even skip a beat. I had a great time with my husband and was so relieved that my baby took to Comforts™ formula. It was such a blessing. Freedom from nursing and a night out feels good knowing I have my babies best interest in mind.

A couple weeks ago I asked all you to tell me your favorite Christmas tradition. Today I’m going to tell you mine. I love picking out a real tree together and wearing Christmas jammies all December.
My favorite tradition that was shared with me on instagram last week was “Christmas Adam”. The night before Christmas Eve one of my readers calls it Christmas Adam. They have ribs for dinner, watch a Christmas movie together in the great room where the tree is and everyone in the family has a giant slumber party. I thought this was so funny and so great.
Hope everyone is having last night of sanity before the Christmas break begins.

Why is it the last thing I need, the ONLY thing they want?
My arms are full but my heart is heavy, as I have 12 more days to decide if my kids will be getting their ultimate Christmas wish.
Hudson is the one who is begging for a puppy. He has worked, earned and saved for a dog for a very long time and it’s the ONLY thing on his Christmas list.
I feel like he is at the perfect age, but it’s me who is not at the perfect stage.
I have tossed and turned about this for a long time, so whats it going to be?
A Christmas Puppy?
a letter in their stockings
Dear Bird Children Thank you for being such wonderful children this year, you are all on the "nice" list. I want to let you know that I received all of your letters this year. Mrs. Claus and I even found you the perfect puppy. I spoke with your mother and we all agree that she feels very blessed this year to have added another baby into the family. She is very excited to celebrate Brooklyn's first Christmas and would love for me to hold the puppy for next Christmas when she has at least one more of her own Bird babies potty trained. She wants to make sure she is done having children before she adds a puppy to the family, because once you have a puppy he becomes a family member so you have to take these things very seriously. I want you to know we want to give you every wish you desire. But sometimes the answer is wait. I hope you understand and you enjoy the other presents I bring to you this beautiful Christmas Day. May we all turn our hearts towards our families and friends and thank the Lord our Savior this day. For coming down as a babe in a manger so that we can all return to live in Heaven again. Glad tidings I bring and my heart it doth sing as I watch you play in harmony. I love you very much Until next year S. Claus
I don’t necessarily love this singers style but I did have her CD growing up and our current situation reminds me so much of these lyrics.
Cherie Call – No Lyrics
A little boy at the end of a day knelt by his bed to say a prayer
And Father up in Heaven heard the prayer he prayed
And listened to each word with greatest care
The boy said,
“Please bless that tomorrow I won’t have to take a bath,
And bless that they will cancel school for snow.”
And God had the power to protect him and never let him grow
But He said, “No.”
And there are yeses that our father can hardly wait to give
And they are packed in every crevice of the lives we live
Sometimes God will pour down miracles and amazing twists of fate
And other times He chooses just to whisper, “Wait.”
How many times have I prayed for blue skies
So no one has to cancel the game
And I feel so abandoned when the sky gets dark
Never knowing all the ones who prayed for rain
And usually the story’s even trickier than this
With solutions that only God could know
But if you ask Him if He’s ever overlooked you
Or ceased to love you so
He’ll say, “No.“
12! More days to decide. Oh! What are we going to do?!!
Going from, “whatever mommy eats, Brooklyn eats”, to, “whatever Brooklyn eats mommy & all the other siblings eat.” The whole family couldn’t be more excited for Brooklyn to start eating/snacking on solid foods like Infant Quinoa Cereals, 100% Quinoa Squares, additional snacks . This means I now carry yummy snacks in my purse, like Ancient Grain Cookies, that we ALL enjoy. The many perks of having a baby in the house.
I don’t feed anything to my baby unless I taste it first and I speak for the Birds, particularly Brooklyn at this time, that we vote these snacks from NurturMe are yummy and only 6 grams of sugar per serving. Healthy snacking has never tasted sweeter
Not only is NurturMe delicious, they also keep tummies happy and healthy. Their tummy friendly foods promote good digestive health and are free from gluten, dairy, soy and egg that can upset sensitive bellies, which helps take the worry out of feeding your growing babies and family.
