Home from Vegas and straight to Strawberry Days, we wouldn’t miss it for the world. We love carnival season!!!
If you know me you know that I love being soccer mom. I grew up playing soccer and now I get to enjoy watching my husband coach my children while I cheer for them, cut the orange slices, and keep them hydrated on the sidelines. This past season both Hudson and Holland had the same color of jerseys and they both randomly chose to be the number 6.
There is nothing more entertaining than watching your kids play on the field. You get to see them use strategy and be aggressive in a positive way. Holland especially is fun to watch because you can tell she has brothers and a lot of them. She may be the smallest on the field, but watch out she is a quick one.
As much as we love to play soccer competitively and officially with a team and jersey, we also like to play soccer as a family whenever we can. We especially like to play soccer while we travel. It’s such a fun way to get in exercise and a great way to meet new friends as we invite them to play with us.
We also like to watch the International Champions Cup live whenever possible. Since the International Champions Cup features the best soccer clubs in the world, we couldn’t be more excited that 18 matches are here in the US this summer! For Father’s Day, we surprised Dad with tickets to see Manchester City vs Liverpool FC July 25th at the MetLife arena in New York City when we visit the shore this summer. It’s been years since we’ve spent time on the Jersey shore and visited New York, and we have never gone to an International Champions Cup live ALL together as a family, so to say were excited is an understatement. We can’t wait!!!!
hollands blanke (minky coutre) / swimsuit (rad swim) Today we played with puppies at the new puppy barn. We are getting closer to becoming dog owners. Hudson has his first baseball game tonight and if they win we are going to get snowcones at Snowasis -even if they lose were still going bc I have been craving one all day.
Gosh Summer is so GREAT!

TBH we did not go to the lake today, infact we did this Sunday. We took a Sunday Sabbatical due to it being stake conference. Last week I almost passed out bc my dress was too tight, my kids were being extra wild and I was shallow breathing so I needed to leave. Extend church an hr and I’m out. So we took a little break and headed to the lake. Well that was after we chased waterfalls. I looked at my husband and said, “wow imagine if we took a sabbatical every sunday? -how much fun we could jam into the week.
But I also say the same thing about tithing. “imagine if I didn’t give 10% off my earnings back to the Lord?” How much more I would have?
Or would I?
I don’t need more, and I don’t need more fun. It’s just a little idea that slips in every once in a while, you know.
But I believe, not doctrine just Shannon preaching, that bc I do these things, the Sunday worships and the charitable contributions that’s what keeps me focused and helps me think outside of myself. It also helps me not take the other 6 days and 90% for granted.
So many wonderful people came together to make this party special for my little Holland.
The pony – we hired from the man who finished my basement. I overheard him saying he had a pony, and asked if he would bring him.
Grateful everyday that you are my daughter Holland! I want you to know how lucky I am to have you in our family. You are a great sister and friend. I love watching you play soccer, dance, ride your bike and collect bugs. One day I know you will catch that butterfly you pray for every night. You keep life fun and I love your imagination. Every morning my favorite thing to ask you is what you dreamt about. You give me both a verbal description and a full on reenactment. I especially love your power ranger dreams.
One of your character traits that I admire most is that you are always pushing yourself and trying to get better. You believe in yourself and that will take you so far in life.
Always know that I am here for you and am your biggest cheerleader, you can be anything you want to be.
Time for baseball, amusement parks, water parks and the east coast, oh yeah and lots and lots of birthday parties. If you have been following along it has been one birthday party after another, and its only just begun. This weekend is Hollands birthday bash and I can’t wait to show her all that we have in store for her.
