People who know me, would think I am super hyper and always on the go. People who really know me, know why. I suffer from seasonal depression, and if I don’t dare let myself think about the weather outside, and just keep myself occupied. I get the worst “Summer Time Sadness”.  I hate layers, wool, and driving in snow. I grew up in Utah, 4 miles from the base of Snow Bird ski resort, and our house would get dumped on with snow. Which is maybe why I always dreamt of living somewhere warm.

My husband on the other hand grew up dreaming of skiing Snow Bird and his parents would send him out here for ski trips ect. My husband loves everything about winter. Layers, sweaters, wool, skiing ect.

Every winter we always get in a discussion, pretty much me asking can we move somewhere warm…

I am torn though because there really is so much that I do like about Utah, which is why we are still uncertain of where we belong.

The reason I have decided to dedicate an entire post on this one song is because I actually love the line, “the cold never bothered me anyway”.

I thought Elsa was so cool and powerful, she was more powerful than the weather.

This winter I have really been embracing the weather, and am trying to be stronger than it. As long as I stay active, do the things that I love, like swim at the gym and get outside when it is sunny. The winter isn’t really all that bad and really is enjoyable.

I love these lyrics.

“Let It Go”

The snow glows white on the mountain tonight
Not a footprint to be seen
A kingdom of isolation,
And it looks like I’m the Queen

The wind is howling like this swirling storm inside
Couldn’t keep it in, heaven knows I tried

Don’t let them in, don’t let them see
Be the good girl you always have to be
Conceal, don’t feel, don’t let them know
Well, now they know

Let it go, let it go
Can’t hold it back anymore
Let it go, let it go
Turn away and slam the door

I don’t care
What they’re going to say
Let the storm rage on,
The cold never bothered me anyway

It’s funny how some distance
Makes everything seem small
And the fears that once controlled me
Can’t get to me at all

It’s time to see what I can do
To test the limits and break through
No right, no wrong, no rules for me
I’m free

Let it go, let it go
I am one with the wind and sky
Let it go, let it go
You’ll never see me cry

Here I stand
And here I’ll stay
Let the storm rage on

My power flurries through the air into the ground
My soul is spiraling in frozen fractals all around
And one thought crystallizes like an icy blast
I’m never going back,
The past is in the past

Let it go, let it go
And I’ll rise like the break of dawn
Let it go, let it go
That perfect girl is gone

Here I stand
In the light of day
Let the storm rage on,
The cold never bothered me anyway

I have so so much going on juggling two kids, one who nurses, and all the fun and travel I want to experience vs thinking of uprooting my life:) Thanks for your comment Ally!

  10. I hear you, I definitely love the sunshine and get the summertime sadness! We have to focus on the lovely things of winter in this long season, like warm cozy sweaters and snuggling up under blankets. Also, you look stunning! This is such a gorgeous dress!
