8 Month Baby Bump

February 27, 2017 By Shannon Bird 1 Comment

dress c/o (lilac clothing via nordsrom -or- expected by lilac for target) / black trench (burberry brit) / booties (rag and bone) / choker (forever 21)

8 is great! Plus an Update…

8 months started with a bang. I had my last monthly check up appointment and was told I had gained 30 lbs from my littlest point in this pregnancy, but have gained 20 lbs from my starting weight. So I am right on track.

*I lost 10 lbs starting out due to sickness

The word of the month is… TIRED

My Iron is low, so I have been taking iron supplements and am back to drinking diet Dr. Pepper around 3 o’clock to keep me awake, or I just take a nap, which I prefer, but don’t always have the luxury of doing so. Thank you toddlers 🙂

I have been waking up several times in the middle of the night with the worst charlie horses.  Starting from the very most lower back running through my hamstrings to the tip of my toes. I call them my “butt zingers”. After several nights of these I decided to get a maternity massage which has done the trick. I am sleeping so much better, and haven’t had one since.

If I haven’t painted a pretty enough picture of what 8 months looks like here’s a visual

These girls are so funny! I love them!!!!!

The Hills Are Alive

February 19, 2017 By Shannon Bird Leave a Comment

This post is sponsored by Janie & Jack, all thought and opinions are my own.

all children’s clothing head-to-toe can be purchased at www.janieandjack.com

Today we are partnering with Janie and Jack for a couple special occasions that are coming up in our family. We have been long time customers of Janie and Jack, and while looking back on pictures, it seems to have become a tradition to have Janie and Jack be with us at all our families most precious and documented moments. From weddings, holidays, blessings, and Sundays it’s a one stop shop for us as I can dress my children head-to-toe in perfectly put together outfits.

I also love the quality. I love seeing my children dressed up, but I still don’t mind my kids being kids, and playing in their special clothes. I know even after being worn and played in, the clothes will wash back to perfect condition. Even good enough to be passed down from one child to the next.

This post opportunity was perfect timing for us and the children’s outfits will also be worn all spring doubling as their Easter outfits and to be worn when our new baby is blessed.

Be sure to check out janieandjack.com and comment bellow letting me know what your favorite collection is 🙂

Post Valentines

February 15, 2017 By Shannon Bird 3 Comments

polka do rain coat (joules) / red sweater (jessica simpson) / jeans (ag at a pea in the pod) / red flats (yosi samra)

This outfit has been on repeat all week, but today instead of wearing it again I decided to just post it on my blog.

The week started out with the kids Valentine’s Day parties at school. We ran to Target after school to get some more Valentines for gymnastics and dance. While we were shopping I had a handful of people come up and ask me questions, like what aisle certain products were on, prices of items etc. I was like, “wow, I look like an expert.”  Hudson corrected me and told me it was because I was wearing a big red sweater and that I looked like a worker. LOL he has told everyone this story. Dad, friends, parents of friends you name it 🙂 it’s so funny how big of a kick he got out of it.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Valentines yesterday. I hope you all felt loved and gave some love. Not to sound redundant but I have especially loved Valentines this year. It was nothing fancy, as both babysitter a & b both backed out on us, which is totally fine, we ended up taking our kids with us. Yeah we’re those people who ruin other people’s Valentines. No I’m kidding we cancelled our reservations, just because we didn’t want to be “those people” for once. Instead we went to a chill Mexican restaurant non of us had ever been too.

Dinner was yummy & all, but I’d have to say the highlight of the day was surprising my Valentine at work. We were really trying to be sneaky, but we got caught red-handed.

Dallin came out as we were about to get away. He then showed me via pictures, that he and his co-workers were watching the whole scene from inside. I was so embarrassed.

“Dallin some pregnant lady is decorating your car” and they all just watched the scene from inside. Embarrassed -YES!-, but I loved it.

My Little Valentines

February 13, 2017 By Shannon Bird Leave a Comment

blazer (janie and jack) / shorts (janie and jack) / bow (janie and jack) / black ballet flats (janie and jack) / top (janie and jack)

I don’t think I’ve ever seen Holland so excited to go to school as she was today. She doesn’t go to school on Tuesday’s, so she got to celebrate Valentines a day early. She woke up, got her school bag out, filled it with her Valentine’s cards and trinkets, she got herself dressed and she even let me do her hair.

As if the morning couldn’t get anymore exciting she then was the flag girl at school, meaning she got to hold the huge flag as her class recited the Pledge of Allegiance. She has been smiling since the moment she woke up.

Thanks for making my Valentines Holland 🙂

7 Month Bump

January 30, 2017 By Shannon Bird Leave a Comment

white lace dress (eliza j.) / white pumps (valentino)

So many fun milestones week 28 brings like…..

First time in oh I don’t know 19 months I didn’t have to wear a dress that was bump and nursing friendly. Also I’m the same gestational number as I am years old, which makes me question if I should feel old or excited I’m getting that much closer to meeting our sweet little boy.

7 months has been great! Our name is finalized, so let the monogramming begin. We luckily found a name that goes with all our themes.

I really wanted a location, a B name since I have 2 h’s and I wanted Briton to have a little pair as well. All our names are 2 syllables. <Dallin, Shannon, Hudson, Holland, Briton,…..> and they all end in an “N” sound.

And surprisingly new babies name fits all of it 🙂

I was getting my nails done with Holland and it hit me. I came home and surprisingly the Mr. didn’t hate. We sat on it for a couple days to let it sink in and then the fun began we went and got his letters for his name to hang on the wall.

Now let’s talk about being 28 and pregnant. Other than being sick at the beginning everything has been normal. At an invasive ultrasound I was told I had varicose veins in my ovaries, which I had never heard of before or have been told I had before, better there than anywhere else I guess, I was told this is pretty normal. Another weird thing that I’ve never notably remembered is how heavy my stomach feels. When I bend over I literally have to hold underneath it. Or when I get up from sitting down. I told my husband that I need a support belt to wear underneath it because it just feels heavy.  Hence why I probably didn’t rub in my lotion on my legs all the way 😉  Maybe I forgot how heavy these little babes are, but I don’t ever remember complaining about it or saying anything about it in pregnancies past. Maybe It’s because I am older? Or my body is just wearing out? Who knows. Like I always say every pregnancy is so unique and so different. It’s so fun to compare them all.

Ice à la Mode

January 27, 2017 By Shannon Bird 1 Comment

This week I had such a great opportunity to work with so many amazing companies, talent and girlfriends. We worked on a fun social promo for Fuji Film <movie clip coming soon>. We started the day by getting our hair done by the one and only  Laced hair extensions. Clothing was provided by Sweaty Betty <long johns> outerwear <french connection> boots <ugg, their koala burra line> transportation was provided by Avis; which was hilarious watching our friend from NY drive in multiple feet of snow in a 13 passenger van 🙂 food and location was provided by the incredible Ice Castles in Midway and best part we got to play and be there all by ourselves. It was so incredible to say the least 🙂

Today Hudson has show-n-tale and he is so excited to show and take pictures of his class with his new Fuji camera. I’m actually looking at in on my kitchen table, he forgot to take it with him, so it looks like I get to bring it to him and watch him present today:)

Have a great weekend everyone!
