HELP! Our dolls have been watching too many of the latest beauty tutorials — and if you take one look at them you will see that things didn’t go quite as planned. One thing led to another and, well, they kinda sorta failed! They need a major make-under. Are you up for the challenge?
We were up for the challenge, and got our dolls back to their beautiful selves . I really enjoyed spending the afternoon with Holland giving our new FailFix Total Makeover Fashion dolls “make under’s”. We transformed their hair, faces, and clothes. Oh, and did I mention accessories? These dolls have it all! Earrings, shoes, stands, brushes, robes, face masks, elastics, hair clips, jewelry etc.
We started the head-to-toe transformation with a surprise fashion reveal by removing our dolls’ robes! There are five #FailFix Fashion dolls, and each has a unique outfit to match her style and personality.
The next step (my favorite): we applied the magic spa mask. Remove it to reveal a fresher look. The face mask can be applied over and over again. The doll can endlessly transform from Fail to Fix.
The hair is a mess! But, don’t worry, it’s fixable! It feels like she had a little too much fun with gel that hardened. You will notice lots of fun surprises and treasures in her hair. Start by removing all the accessories stuck in her hair and brush it out until it’s silky smooth! While brushing, start at the ends and work yourself to the root. The hair brushing process took quite a while, so be patient and have fun. We had a blast talking about our dolls’ beautiful differences, and what we liked about them. We even gave them names. They come named, but we wanted to add some personalization to make them our own.
We finished styling our dolls with their accessories to complete their looks, and they are now displayed on their included Doll Stands. The earrings were so fun to apply. Holland’s doll had a bracelet, and mine had glasses.
I loved the diversity in the dolls and the realistic body shapes — which empower a play pattern where girls are in charge. I like how it’s teaching my daughter to appreciate her unique body build and love the skin she’s in. It doesn’t have to fit a mold or certain stereotype.
I enjoyed our fun afternoon playing together with our dolls. As a mother of five, I look forward to special one-on-one time with each of my children. It’s toys like this that teach us about ourselves and the world around us, and remind us that all girls are different and special. It’s no wonder #FailFix was nominated for the TOTY Awards and National Parent Product (NAPPA) awards.
