*** I’m sharing my experience in hopes that you will never have to go through what I did.
I get back from my trip and I receive this email.
Now I do not think I am blue check mark material, but my views did about double while in Cancun & Las Vegas.
Just my instagram numbers in a WEEK! were as visible and got as many impressions as 36 Utah Billboards do in a MONTH, all combined.
So I think well, just maybe???? And I click on the link and I was hacked!!!!!!!!
I was driving home from a photoshoot and Instagram notified me. I was paralyzed. Everything I built, everyone I met, taken from me.
5 pregnancies , 4 babies, the highs, the lows, I shared it all. And I had no idea if it was coming back.
Instagram sent me a code which I had to write on a piece of paper take a pic of me holding the numbers to verify that the account actually belong to me.
Then silence lasted a painful 23 hrs.
And I am so happy that I am in again. @birdalamode is rightfully MINE!!!! again.
I had to sign in as if I was the hacker (using his name he changed it to) quickly change all the passwords and then turn two-factor notification on. Locking him out for good and recovering what “it/he/she” undid.
So now you know everything. And I hope you learn from it. It was so scary to be locked out and watch it all get taken from me.
We had really hard conversations. What are we going to do. Do I rebuild or call it a loss. Do I find a new outlet, do I work, do I learn to live smaller and rely more on my husband. It was a dark place to be in and it felt like the entire wold was sitting on top of me.
It was like one day I’m on top of the world and the next it’s sitting on top of me.
I wish this on NO ONE!!!
So please turn on two-factor authentication and be oh so careful!!!
