The last time my pregnant bump is going to be on my blog.
*Trying not to cry as I type that.
For those of you who don’t know I have now had my baby, birth story and pictures of my sweetheart coming soon. I have not posted in so long, I have been so busy adjusting to my new life as a mother to 4 children 5 and under. All while trying to be the best mom to my little ones who are all still so dependent on me.
The last couple days have been sweet and simple. From getting to play Candy Land with Briton for 2 straight hrs while the other kids were at preschool, to the first time I had just Briton come into the hospital and be the first to meet his new brother. I hold & look at my baby Britsy and he now feels so big in my arms. His vocabulary has sky rocketed and somehow he got even sweeter.
This same change has happened in all my children.
I overheard Hudson talking to Holland as he was telling her that things are going to get a little different around here, preparing her for what a new baby in our house will bring. I then watched as Hudson climbed up the fridge, brought down the milk and poured his own bowl of cereal.
Even Holland has changed as she has taken upon herself to not only mother Brooklyn, but Briton as well. She too has taught herself how to get a placemat out for her and Briton, two bowls, two spoons, and then she told Briton to just wait until mom pours the milk.
These moments might seem odd to share, but they are the ones that I am cherishing with all my heart. I couldn’t ask for better kids and I have loved watching them work together trying to help me out. They always ask if they can feed Brooklyn a bottle and love preparing the diapers, wipes, vaseline, and gauze for Brooklyn diaper changes.
I will not say the last couple of days have been easy, because they haven’t. And I have never been more sleep deprived in my life waiting for my milk to come in and having my newborn work day and night trying to get it to come. 4 days later and 11 ounces lost in my Brooklyn, but it has now come in & Brooklyn is eating & sleeping like a champ. My goal is to fatten him up as I am pumping out pure butter. My milk is almost orange because it has so much fat in it, at least thats what the pediatrician said when I showed her Britons bottle yesterday.
I am feeling so blessed for my family and for each and every one of my kids as we invite another baby into our home and hearts. Life as we know it has changed forever. We have all been changed for the better. Can’t wait to start this chapter with my family.
